Can not connect to database

If the program inform of "Can not connect to database, please check server setting! ", the reasons and resolving way may be:

  1. There are more than one processes of MDSS server running in your computer. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to launch the Windows Task Manager. If you find more than one MDSS_s.exe processes, kill all and restart the program.
  2. If MS Sql Server is used, please check whether the Sql Server service is running correctly. Then, check whether the MDSS server database setting are suitable for the parameters of the MS Sql Server and the 'wdsdb' database.
  3. If inbuilt database is used, please try close and restart the program, There should be a interval more than 20 seconds between restarting operations.
  4. Program data may be destroyed, Backup current data and then recover the data backuped last time.

 

Can not start threads

If the program inform of "Can not start threads, server closed",there may be more than one processes of MDSS server running in your computer. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to launch the Windows Task Manager. If you find more than one MDSS_s.exe processes, kill all and restart the program.

 

Can not connect with server

If the client program reports "Can not connect with server", please:

  1. Check whether the MDSS Server had launched correctly.
  2. Check IP address at main windows. If you find , it hints the computer is disconnected with the net. Perhaps, you find a unknown IP address. If you can't fix the problem, please get help from network administrator in your organization.
  3. Check Main Server Port and Login Server Port in Server Configuration window.
  4. Ask users who reports the client program problem whether the Server IP, Main service port and Login service port are set correctly.

 

Other possible problems

  1. If a firewall software is running in your computer, improper setting may cause problems.
  2. MDSS Server require Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.6(jre 1.6) which is included in MDSS setup program. However, if you had install other low version jre and set the low version jre as default jre, unpredictable problems may appear.
